2004-11-27 - 10:34 a.m.

Here is a quick holiday recap. On Thursday we went to Michael's mom's house. At first we had decided to cook dinner at our own house but she has a youngish dog and didn't trust him to be at home all day alone. Personally I think it was a cop out, she probably didn't want to drive home from our house while it was dark out.

So we were all there in the kitchen, they were both cooking and I was sitting at the table trying to be helpful but not able to help because of my pain.

Phyllis sends Michael out to the garage to get something and says to becareful not to let the kitty out. Kitty?? They don't have a kitty. She tells us how 2 weeks ago they found this very young starving to death kitten that someone had thrown out of a car onto the road. He looked terrible, but they got some food and he was doing much better by the time we saw him. He had a little bit of road rash where he scraped his mouth.

I brought the kitty in and tried to hold him on the couch. I say tried because he would escape from my arms and run over to Michael, he would cuddle up near his neck and snuggle with him.

Something, maybe instinct told this little cat that he really needed to charm Michael, because that is exactly what he did. We took him home on Thursday and then Friday night went and had him tested and got him innoculated. Everything was fine and an hour later and $130 lighter we took him home again. The vet estimates that he is about 7 weeks old now, and he weighted 2 lbs and 2 ounces. Such a cute little guy.

Stubby still isn't loving it, but he has been alone here for almost 3 years and got used to being the center of attention. There has been a lot of hissing but no other problems. Stubby will definately get over it, he is usually very nurturing and loving with other cats, maybe its the fact that Bucko is so young. I will post updates and pics.

Food was overwhelmingly good. I am so proud of Michael, he had been doing Atkins for almost two weeks now, he relaxed it a bit that day and had a free meal, now he is right back on track. I, however am not doing so good. Once I get healed from Surgery (three days and counting) I will be back on the straight and narrow.
