Where did the weekend go? I can't believe it is Tuesday night already.
Saturday night Michael had to work from midnight until noon on Sunday. They were rolling out a new database or something and a couple people had to sit idle at the hospital in case the shit went down. This really threw his sleep schedule off kilter. Mine has been off kilter for a long time. I am still up all night (though tonight may be the exception) and sleeping about 4 or 5 hours in the morning.
After Michael got home on Sunday afternoon we both went to sleep from 3ish until I woke up at 6:00 pm. It took me a while to get him out of bed, but I did and right around 7 we got the crazy idea of hopping onto a Coach USA bus and riding the 2 hours and 40 minutes to the Indian Casino in Kinder, Louisiana. This was the first time we had done this. We both rushed to get showers and then had to get gas in the car and head to the other side of town to catch the bus by 8:30. We got there at 8:40 and the bus was gone. I suggested we go to the next location on the route and get on the bus. This location is in the GHETTO. The scary ghetto. We left my car in the burger king parking lot and headed towards LA.
The ride there was pretty uneventful, the bus was really full but quiet as we all watched Ghost ship on the way up, lots of people slept as well. The trip is $5 each person for a round trip. Pretty cool deal. The bus was to leave the casino at 4 am, and as we found out it was an exact time.
While there we spent about $150.00 on the slot machines. We played the whole time on that money and had a blast. We were on the way to cash in the vouchers and I asked if we could stop at my favorite machine (trivial persuit) because it was pretty good to me earlier, but a woman was sitting there so I took the one on the end. I placed the one bet, got into the bonus round and then kept winning in the bonus round, we cashed out of the machine for about $69.00, at that point we had 10 minutes before we had to meet the bus.
Background information, I had explosive diarrhea from Thursday until late Saturday night, what made me think it was a good idea to get on a bus for that long, I don't know. I had taken a lot of medicine to try and help myself out, it worked, but a little too well.
In the 10 minutes we had left, I tried to go to the bathroom so there wouldn't be a need to use the one on the bus. I lost track of time and when I was washing my hands, I heard Michael yell into the bathroom "Marilynn, hurry up!!"
We walked as fast as I could go to the bus stop and saw it way down the road leaving us there. I instantly started balling because I knew we were getting pretty tired at that point and wanted to get home. We had caught the last bus in of the night so the next time a Coach USA bus would be heading home would be about 1 pm.
I will save the rest of the story for an entry tomorrow because I fear this is already too long and no one will want to read this much. Plus I am hella tired and may be able to sleep tonight.
I was up until about 10 am this morning and then got up at 1:00 because I had to go to the hospital to pick up Michael's mother. She had a partical mastectomy today. Can you believe they do this shit as day surgery?! Crazy. She is doing really well both physically and mentally. I just hope they got rid of all the cancer. She has been through so much medical bullshit in the last 3 years.
I'm gonna try and sleep now, I will finish the rest of the story tomorrow. Let me just say the rest was quite an adventure.
